Donating Items to the Museum Project...

If you have any photographs, documents, maps, articles or scanned images which you think will enhance this website, we would be delighted to hear from you via info@sohammuseum.org. We are particularly interested in family stories, the history of your house, soham ancestry, and articles about Soham life. If you would like to contribute, we would be very grateful.

We have a growing collection of books, artefacts, documents and photographs relating to Soham and the surrounding area, and we are always delighted to add items to this. Despite trying to raise awareness of the importance of everyday items and old documents and photographs, we still hear that significant items of local interest have been thrown away. If in doubt, please do contact us, we rarely say no.

Collectors Policy

Our collectors policy is very straightforward. We will assess each item offered to us on its own merit.  We do accept items which other museums turn away, and we are non date specific. We do not however expect to pay for items offered to us - donation should mean just that. This policy however does not preclude offering us articles of Soham interest which are intended to go on public sale.

Donations to the museum are permanent and subsequently become property of the trustees of Soham Community History Museum in the interest of preserving items of historic interest for the Community of Soham.

Items which are offered for loan will be kept for a minimal period at the discretion of the owner.

If you have any items which you think might interest us, we would be delighted to hear from you.
